Job Description
We're Hiring a Dental Hygienist! At Compass Dental, we believe dentistry should feel personal. As a single-doctor practice, our team enjoys meaningful one-on-one interactions with patients while delivering truly comprehensive care. Our office offers a uniquely broad scope of advanced procedures including implants, surgical extractions, full-arch dentistry, microscope-assisted endodontics, and general anesthesia with a board-certified anesthesiologist. Because so much care is provided in-house, our hygiene team plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting high-level patient outcomes. We are committed to helping our hygienists practice at the top of their license through our partnership with Inspired Hygiene, advanced clinical systems, and modern adjunctive therapies and products including PerioProtect, StellaLife, Zima Dental Pods, Oral-B iO electric toothbrushes, Waterpiks, and CocoLab floss.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality dental services, including pediatric and general dentistry. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with EMR systems, and a thorough understanding of dental terminology and infection control protocols. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing procedures to promote oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in Eaglesoft ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Follow infection control standards using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Collaborate with dentists during procedures involving general dentistry cases. Ensure the clinical environment remains sterile and organized in accordance with infection control policies.Skills Proficiency in dental software:
Eaglesoft Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding relevant to dental care. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical imaging techniques accurately. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records documentation review. Effective communication skills for explaining procedures and oral health education to patients of all ages. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable, especially with EMR systems for documentation review and record keeping.
