Deputy City Manager

Featured Deputy City Manager City of Franklin, VA The City of Franklin, Virginia is seeking an innovate and proven senior level executive around core areas of a municipality setting to join our city as a Deputy City Manager. The Deputy City Manager will be responsible for the oversight of an assigned portfolio supporting the City Manager in delivering effective governance and high-quality services to the Franklin community. Portfolio assignments will be determined based on the needs of the City and experience and talent of the qualified candidate. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and oversight for Finance, Budget, Business Services, and Human Resources in alignment with organizational priorities and long-term fiscal sustainability. This role works in close partnership with the City Treasurer, Commissioner of the Revenue, and Franklin City Public Schools to ensure coordinated financial planning and effective budget execution. Serving concurrently as Chief Deputy City Clerk, the position supports City Council effectiveness through strategic agenda development, policy initiatives, and ensuring effective follow-through. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable, reflecting the City's commitment to financial stewardship and excellence in municipal operations.

Salary range:

$113,190 - $141,510 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for alternative scheduling.
