Job Description

Deputy Director Status Full time
Department Administration Description Rate of Pay:
$64,373.40 - $85,831.20 per year.
Basic Function:
Provide administrative support and back-up to the Executive Director and direct administrative oversight of the Family Resources and Housing departments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the Executive Director with administrative responsibilities, managing the day-to-day operations of the agency. Act on behalf of the Executive Director in her absence. Provide programmatic guidance and oversight for the Family Resources and Housing Divisions. Identify and pursue opportunities for integrating Child Development, Family Resources, and Housing operations into a unified set of coordinated services. Provide direction and guidance for expanding the use of technology to enhance service delivery and integration. Provide assistance to the fiscal office in monitoring revenue and expenses related to all program operations to develop an agency wide budget. Monitor agency wide cost allocation budgets and assist Directors with developing and monitoring Special Allocations. Oversee implementation of agency-wide initiatives developed through the Executive and Leadership Teams. Assist with the coordination of the activities of the Board of Directors. Represent the Executive Director at community functions, special meetings, boards, etc. as requested. Promote the agency by communicating its philosophy, mission, and services to staff, families and the community and supporting staff to do the same. Support the members of the governing body, policy council and advisory committees in making informed decisions about program plans by providing accurate and timely information about the program requirements (when necessary). Serve as a role model to staff and families by following and exhibiting sound practices (e.g. communicating positively and understand and accepting cultural differences). Promote a collaborative, productive working environment by following established communication protocols, clearly articulating expectations, outcomes and timelines, and using conflict resolution skills when necessary. Assist in expanding the program's funding base by staying informed of state, local, and foundation funding opportunities, participate in the development for funding application, and tapping new sources of non-federal share. Performs other duties as requested by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Human Services or related field preferred, or a Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field plus work experience in the Human Services field and Five years' experience in human services program development, administration, and staff supervision, preferably in a Community Action Agency Or equivalent combination of the above. Candidate must possess a strong understanding of poverty issues and innovative approaches for addressing these issues. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Understanding of government funded programs and related regulations. Working knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, indirect and cost allocations. Experience with developing technology based approaches to enhancing organizational operations. Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP) a plus. « Return to Job Listings
