Job Description
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Achievement Must complete the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy Peace Officer Basic Training or an equivalent achievement No experience required Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilitiesRequired Licenses or Certifications:
Class C driver's license Must obtain Wyoming P.O.S.T. Peace Officer CertificationKnowledge of:
English grammar, spelling and punctuation Legal terminology and court procedures Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment Pertinent federal, state, and local laws; codes and regulations; and policies and procedures Basic principles of criminal law Principles, methods, and techniques of investigations Procedures, methods, and techniques of modern law enforcement Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting Safe working/driving principles and practices Skill in: Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios Communication, both oral and written Conflict resolution Operating specialized equipment Ability to: Meet schedules and deadlines of the work Understand and carry out oral and written directions Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries Interpret, explain, and enforce policies, procedures and applicable federal and state statutes with tact and impartiality Follow standard safety practices and procedures common to law enforcement work Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals Review, evaluate and prepare clear and concise reports Respond to requests and inquiries from the general publicPHYSICAL DEMANDS
