We're a warm, welcoming pottery studio dedicated to sharing the joy of clay with our community. We're looking for a passionate, hands-on Part-Time Pottery Instructor to join our team and help students of all ages discover the magic of making with their own two hands. This is more than just teaching—it's about building confidence, fostering creativity, and being part of a small team that cares deeply about art and people. Responsibilities Teach beginner and intermediate pottery classes in a fun, approachable, and encouraging way Guide students through wheel throwing, hand-building, and glazing Prepare and set up materials, tools, and clay before each class Keep the class running smoothly by managing time, answering questions, and maintaining a welcoming vibe Process students' pieces including wiring pieces off bats, carving names, glaze options and dates on the bottom of students' pieces Demonstrate proper techniques and studio safety at all times Contribute ideas for new class offerings, workshops, and community events Maintain the cleanness of the studio space Be a positive presence in the studio—someone students look forward to learning from! Requirements Prior experience teaching pottery classes or working in a ceramic studio Proficient in wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, and firing A friendly, patient, and approachable personality—able to meet students where they're at Good communication skills and the ability to work with students of all skill levels Dependable, organized, and able to work independently when needed Availability to teach evening and/or weekend classes Bonus if you're familiar with studio maintenance or have a background in art education
