Through innovative arts programming, HOPE empowers adults with intellectual disabilities to reach their highest potential while bringing their voices forward to be heard, seen, and appreciated by the community. Our programs focus on visual arts, performing arts, life enrichment, community integration, and personal growth through a person-centered approach. Position Overview HOPE Center for the Arts is seeking a creative, compassionate, and energetic Visual Arts Instructor to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about art education, enjoys working collaboratively, and believes in the power of the arts to transform lives. The Visual Arts Instructor will lead engaging art classes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while fostering creativity, confidence, self-expression, and community involvement. Responsibilities Plan and lead inclusive visual arts classes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities Teach a variety of art mediums including painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, fiber arts, and seasonal art projects Adapt instruction to meet varying skill levels and support individual artistic goals Prepare student artwork for exhibits, showcases, community events, and art sales Encourage creativity, independence, self-advocacy, and positive social interaction Collaborate with instructors, support staff, and administration to maintain a positive learning environment Assist with organizational events, performances, exhibitions, and community outreach opportunities Maintain classroom organization, supplies, and cleanliness Complete attendance, progress notes, and other required documentation as needed Represent HOPE professionally within the community Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in visual arts instruction, arts facilitation, or related experience Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills Passion for working in a creative and supportive environment Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Degree or coursework in visual arts, fine arts, art education, or related field preferred Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Irvine required Additional Information Occasional evening or weekend availability may be needed for special events or exhibitions Background check may be required prior to employment Health benefits available for eligible full-time employees Equal Opportunity Employer HOPE Center for the Arts is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply.
