SCHOOL COOKING TEACHING ARTIST

Northeast Los Angeles SODE School of Performing Arts is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and reliable Cooking Teaching Artist for an exciting after-school enrichment program serving elementary-aged students in Northeast Los Angeles. This engaging cooking and nutrition program focuses on: Healthy snack-making Nutrition education Confidence-building Teamwork and responsibility Encouraging students to become helpers at home All recipes are: ✔ Kid-friendly ✔ Healthy ✔ Easy to make ✔ No ovens required Students will build their own recipe books throughout the session while learning healthy eating habits and important life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

POSITION DETAILS

1-2 days per week 1.5 hour after-school classes Located in Northeast Los Angeles Competitive compensation Additional compensation for prep work and cleanup

QUALIFICATIONS

✔ 3-5 years of teaching experience ✔ Experience working with children ✔ Knowledge or passion for cooking, nutrition, or wellness ✔ Strong classroom management and communication skills ✔ Reliable transportation and valid driver's license ✔ Willingness to complete Live Scan fingerprinting ✔ Ability to provide 2 professional references

BONUS EXPERIENCE

Theater arts Visual arts Camp programs Behavioral support or therapy experience Availability to assist with additional enrichment programs Preferred candidates are available to assist one additional day per week at another school location.
