Event Artist - Face Painter / Caricature Artist (Part-Time Contract) Bring Creativity to Live Events Across the Bay Area Are you an artist who enjoys engaging with people as much as creating art? We're looking for talented, personable individuals to join our growing team of event artists. HappyCake Face Painting provides interactive entertainment for corporate functions, community events, school programs, private parties, festivals, and luxury celebrations throughout the Bay Area. We're seeking artists who can help create memorable experiences while representing our brand with professionalism and enthusiasm. Position Overview This role combines artistic talent with guest interaction. You'll be working directly with event attendees, creating custom artwork while helping to maintain a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Assignments are scheduled primarily on weekends, with most events lasting between two and six hours. Responsibilities Create face painting designs or caricature drawings for event guests Deliver a positive and engaging customer experience Maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing workspace Manage guest flow and wait times professionally Arrive on time with all required materials and supplies Follow event-specific instructions, themes, and dress requirements Display company-provided signage and promotional materials when required Communicate schedule availability and event confirmations promptly Represent the company professionally at all times Qualifications Background in art, illustration, painting, design, or a related creative field Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working in public-facing environments Experience interacting with children, families, or customers Reliable transportation for travel throughout the Bay Area Dependable, professional, and punctual Weekend availability is required Ability to remain energetic and focused throughout an event shift Interest in ongoing freelance or contract opportunities Preferred but Not Required Previous face painting experience Caricature drawing experience Entertainment or live event background Experience working at busy public events or festivals Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay ranging from $50-$75 per hour based on experience and skill level Tips received directly from clients and guests Flexible scheduling Opportunities to learn additional event services and specialties Access to a variety of unique events and venues Training and professional development opportunities Collaborative and supportive team environment Company merchandise and occasional event perks This Opportunity Is Ideal For Artists who enjoy social interaction and guest engagement Professionals who take pride in reliability and presentation Creative individuals seeking flexible supplemental income Event-focused artists interested in long-term opportunities Application Instructions To be considered, please submit: Current resume Examples of your artwork Portfolio website or social media profile (if available) Brief introduction outlining your relevant experience Please note that applications submitted without artwork samples cannot be considered.
