Job Description

R. Jack Balthazar in Vernon, CA is currently looking for a Finish Painter to join our growing fabrication shop. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with the operation and maintenance of a professional-level spray booth, HVLP spray gun operation and finish application including paints, stains, lacquers, polyurethane and more. Additionally, this position is expected to lead the entire process including patching and sanding. Scenic painting and faux finishing including marble, concrete and patina experience is highly preferred. Must be motivated, energetic and able to produce high quality work within strict deadlines and determined budgets. This role is based out of our production house and generally on a standard 8:30 am-5:00 pm schedule, but may require night and weekend work offsite when jobs demand. Pay based on experience and quality of work.
Requirements:
Attention to detail in work and maintaining a clean work environment Adherence to workplace safety standards and ability to wear appropriate PPE 3 years of experience working in and maintaining spray booth Extensive knowledge in paints, stains and solvents. Working from drawings and renderings to verify color specifications and paint with attention to detail. Develop appropriate paint kits for onsite use Knowledge of traditional scenic tools and techniques Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting 50+ pounds, bending, standing, climbing, etc. Valid Driver License with clean driver record Must be able to work independently as well as with a team and able to give direction Must pass a background and drug test Additional Preferred Skills Experience driving a 24' truckContinue Knowledge in creating custom treatments such as marbling effects, manipulation/aging of woods, pouring resin etc.
