Teaching Artist

Job Summary We are seeking passionate and dynamic Teaching Artists (dance, music, and visual arts) to inspire creativity, foster learning, and engage diverse groups of youth through innovative arts education. In this role, you will design and deliver compelling arts-based classes that cultivate artistic skills, encourage self-expression, and promote personal growth among learners of all ages. Duties Develop engaging lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels across multiple art forms such as theater, dance, visual arts, or crafts. Plan and implement interactive lessons that incorporate creative techniques like photography, sewing, ballet, or cooking to foster artistic exploration. Manage classroom environments effectively by establishing clear expectations, maintaining positive behavior, and ensuring safety during activities. Facilitate hands-on workshops and performances that encourage active participation and self-expression among students. Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of learners with diverse backgrounds, including those in special education or residential-home settings. Document program activities through our CRM and participant feedback to continuously improve offerings. Qualifications Proven experience in teaching or instructing in arts disciplines such as music, visual arts, dance, etc. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and motivating environment. Knowledge of childhood development principles and education best practices. Familiarity with behavior management techniques to support positive learning experiences.
