Part-time About Us Boston Youth Arts and Innovation (BYAI) is a growing learning center and makerspace dedicated to integrating STEM and the Arts. Our mission is to inspire creativity, curiosity, and leadership in K-12 students through hands-on learning experiences that combine engineering, design, and artistic expression. Through project-based learning and real-world making, students learn to design ideas, build prototypes, and turn imagination into reality. Responsibilities Teach 3D design and printing courses for students in Grade K - 12 Guide students in using 3D modeling software (such as Tinkercad or Fusion 360) to design their own creations Lead hands-on projects where students transform digital designs into physical 3D-printed objects Introduce students to the engineering design process: idea → design → prototype → improve Operate and maintain 3D printers (Bambu Lab) and digital fabrication tools Support students in creative projects such as toys, tools, architectural models, and artistic designs Collaborate with the curriculum team to improve lesson plans and develop new maker projects Create a safe, inspiring, and creative learning environment Qualifications Experience with setting up and calibrating 3D printers (Bambu Lab) Experience with 3D modeling software (Tinkercad, Fusion 360, Blender, or similar) Familiarity with 3D printing technologies (FDM printers, slicing software, printer setup) Basic understanding of engineering design and digital fabrication Passion for working with children or teens in hands-on STEM learning Strong communication and classroom engagement skills A maker mindset: curious, creative, and enthusiastic about building and experimenting
Preferred:
