Job Description
Ideaman, Inc., located in Union, Missouri, is the nation's only manufacturer of the original vintage souvenir 3-D rubber refrigerator magnets. Our products are distributed worldwide through various retail channels and direct-to-consumer under our brand name, "Classic Magnets". We are looking to expand our art department by adding a part-time Digital Artist to our team. In this part-time position you will be challenged to utilize a combination of artistic skills for the creation of original digital designs and technical skills to convert these designs into production-ready files for use in the production of our molded refrigerator magnets. This involves concept creation, developing digital illustrations, manipulating vector-based graphics and working in several different design platforms. You will work closely with our design team, but you must also be able to thrive independently with little supervision; finding solutions and overcoming challenges using your own problem-solving skills. The Digital Artist Position will involve the following: Utilizing tablet-based illustration software to create original line-art illustrations. Composing strong graphic design layouts with compelling typographic solutions. Adjusting complex vector graphics to be converted into our unique 3-D Magnets. Creating toolpaths from magnet designs for use on our CNC engraving machine. Performing various design-related tasks required to satisfy our art department needs. If you are the ideal candidate, you will possess the following: A solid artistic competence in illustration, typography, and graphic design. Strong computer comprehension and skills working in Corel Draw and/or Adobe Illustrator. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop. Experience working in Microsoft Office software (especially Excel). Ambition, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and positive energy. Live within a reasonable commute to Union, MO. This is an onsite part-time position consisting of 20-25 hours/week.
