June 1 - August 16, 2026 Mission Statement The mission of The Joyce Theater Foundation is to serve and support the art of dance and choreography, to promote the richness and variety of the art form in its fullest expression, and to advance the public interest in, and appreciation of, dance and the allied arts of music, design, and theater. The Joyce's programs embrace the entire spectrum of movement styles and traditions, from the time-honored to the untried, and are designed to encourage, sustain, and educate a diverse audience. Internship Description The Joyce Theater Foundation seeks to employ one (1) part-time Programming Department Intern working in-person in support of activities associated with the department. The projected start date is June 1, 2026, and end date August 16, 2026. Work hours are flexible and to be agreed upon between the intern and supervisor prior to the start date. Responsibilities Creating and maintaining organizational spreadsheets and documents in preparation for upcoming seasons Researching and compiling background information on contracted and potential companies Updating archival databases to reflect past Joyce engagements, commissions, and artist residencies Maintaining the physical program book archive Assisting with special event coordination and on and off-site support Other responsibilities as needed Summary of Qualifications Strong interest in dance and/or performing arts programming Working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, JotForm, and Excel Able to work independently and take initiative while working with the Programming team Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt to a fast-paced environment This is a paid internship compensated with a $3,000 grant, payable in three installments. Undergraduate, graduate, and those transitioning careers are welcome to apply.
