Jack O'Lantern Journey-Peekskill NY Jack O' Lantern Journey is an event production company in Peekskill, NY. We conceive, design, build, ship and install original content for installations with a focus on the Halloween season. We have a wonderful opportunity for an exceptional scenic artist and foam sculptor with superior skills in illustration and painting.

Responsibilities Include:

Carve Styrofoam using Dremel's and die grinders from reference images and shop drawings Paint scenery, props, and backdrops using professional techniques Execute illustrated art projects from concept drawings and shop drawings Create original illustrations from reference images or from verbal instructions Track, photograph and label completed projects Maintain a clean working environment Qualified Candidates must be: Exceptional scenic artist and foam sculptor Superior skills in illustration and painting Skilled with Dremel and other foam carving/sculpting tools and techniques. Able to use common shop power tools: chop saw, electric drill, screw gun A reliable team player Hardworking and motivated Flexible and have the ability to manage multiple projects A plus but not required: Painting, Digital Art, or related Experience Mold making and casting experience Ability to travel for work outside of New York during the month of September and October Bachelors in Studio Art or related Experience in fruit (pumpkin) carving or ice carving Ability to produce artwork (illustrate, carve) live in front of event guests. Overall proficiency with computers Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator Possess a creative flair with digital layout design skills to assist in creating visually appealing documents and presentations. Knowledge in InDesign, VectorWorks and/ or SketchUp would be great. Collaborate with the design team to enhance the visual aspects of marketing materials

Schedule:

Flexible Typical shop hours Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm In order to be considered: To be considered you must provide samples of your work, sculptures and paintings.
