About the Chester County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) The Chester County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing young musicians in Southeastern Pennsylvania the opportunity to grow musically by performing challenging works from the standard orchestral repertoire. CCYO accepts talented musicians between the ages of 12 and 18 through an audition process. CCYO accepts talented musicians between the ages of 12 and 18 through an audition process. (www.ccyo.org) Role Overview The Chester County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) seeks a highly organized, proactive, and collaborative Executive Director to oversee the organization's operations, logistics, and administrative functions. This role serves as the central hub of communication and coordination for CCYO, working closely with the Artistic Director, Board of Directors, students, families, and community partners to ensure smooth execution of all programs, events, and organizational initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead student recruitment and retention initiatives Manage venue reservations and oversee rehearsal and concert logistics Track attendance and enforce attendance policies Coordinate volunteers, including ushers, event staff, and parent support Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and external partners Oversee fundraising support, sponsorship coordination, and donor stewardship Coordinate sponsor and donor communications Ensure compliance with organizational handbook policies and manage annual updates Attend all rehearsals, concerts, and CCYO events Manage and update social media platforms and the CCYO website Produce and distribute concert programs Oversee marketing, publicity, and audience development initiatives Serve as the primary administrator for all CCYO operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Music, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with event planning, logistics coordination, or nonprofit administration preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Experience with marketing, social media, and communications platforms Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with board members, staff, students, and families Interest in music education and youth arts programming strongly preferred Availability to attend all rehearsals and concerts; rehearsals take place Wednesday evenings September through May at Peirce Middle School in West Chester, PA; concerts, events, and fundraisers may take place on weekends
