Job Description:
Founded in 2004, Evil Eye Pictures is a collaborative virtual studio bringing together some of the best content creators, innovators and engineers from around the globe. The team is focused on creating immersive, compelling visuals and experiences for the evolving world of real-time, multi-platform entertainment. Evil Eye was founded by artists to work on high-profile, special projects while maintaining an emphasis on people and a positive, fun work culture. Unreal Lighting Artist (Contract) Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an experienced Unreal Lighting Artist. The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years of professional experience in film, television and/or games, and a thorough understanding of visual effects pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and design lighting for complex scenes in Unreal Engine, owning both the technical and creative problem spaces Work closely with directors and supervisors to develop cinematic lighting solutions, which capture the vision laid out by the client Translate 2D concepts into final lighting solutions and renders Look development of assets, environments, and FX elements Identify problematic shots and offer creative or technical solutions Oversee and help optimize shots for rendering
Requirements:
Experience with Unreal Engine lighting techniques and solutions in a production environment Proven track record with photoreal and full CG lighting for film, television and/or games Experience with a variety of lighting techniques and tools (GPU Lightmass, Lumen, raytracing, dynamic vs baked lighting, MRG, MRQ, CVars, etc...) Detail-oriented both in work processes and ability to QC work Understanding of optimization and performance profiling Ability to take directions and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment Clear communication with all departments to ensure work is completed by production deadlines Excellent ability to improvise and problem solve Good to
Have:
Experience with Maya, Houdini, Blender or equivalent DCC is a plus Experience in compositing is a plus Knowledge of an asset manager such as Shotgrid is a plus

CA Pay Transparency Information:
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Evil Eye's benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs). Base Pay Range $45-65 per hour.
