Job Description

Founded in 2000, Arts Corps is a multidisciplinary arts education organization in Seattle that provides free arts learning opportunities to young people from kindergarten through high school. Our programs encompass school-based programs, out-of-school time classes, and teen leadership programs with an emphasis on serving young people from marginalized communities. Through these programs and local and national leadership, Arts Corps addresses a critical opportunity gap in a region where race and income are the greatest determining factors in access to arts education. In 2012, Arts Corps received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, which recognizes exemplary arts and humanities education programs across the nation. Arts Corps is expanding our summer programming in partnership with Rain City Rock Camp and Amara Family Services. Our student internship program, Art 4 Life, where students are paid to learn artistic skills. This camp focuses on learning an instrument, (Vocals, Bass, Guitar, Keys) We're looking to hire musicians with specialties in Bass, Guitar, and Piano who can teach short lessons to students to help them write a song for their final performance at Vera Project. Program Description:
Art 4 Life Expansion will extend current Arts Corps summer programming in Arts Education and youth development to an additional site to serve youth ages 11-18. This summer, we are collaborating with Amara Family services at their location in South Seattle
  • 3505 S Juneau St, Seattle, WA 98118.
For two weeks, youth will create music within a band and learn printmaking art with our established Teaching Artists, Classroom Assistants and Instrument/Vocal Coaches.

Guitar Coach Job Description:
  • Being support point of contact for coaching youth in Guitar instruction
  • Supervising youth and collaborating on communication and addressing behavioral concerns with Amara staff
  • Updating and communicating with program manager regarding issues that come up
  • Be present for the A4L Showcase being held on July 17th (6pm) at The Vera Project 305 Harrison St, Seattle, WA 98109
