Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Installer / Field Team Leader to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for leading installation crews while actively participating in daily field operations. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, solution-oriented, and capable of motivating team members while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism. The successful candidate will have strong installation experience, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the desire to take ownership of project success from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Coordination Lead and coordinate installation teams on residential, commercial, and public-sector projects. Assign daily tasks and maintain crew productivity. Train, mentor, and support junior technicians and installers. Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and accountability. Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment. Installation & Technical Execution Participate directly in installations while supervising field personnel. Install and support audio/video, networking, security, access control, automation, and low-voltage systems. Install displays, projectors, speakers, equipment racks, cameras, access control devices, and related technologies. Perform cable installation, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting. Build, wire, and organize equipment racks according to company standards. Assist with system testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities. Project Execution & Communication Review project drawings, scope of work, schedules, and installation requirements before arriving on site. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to Project Management. Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, electricians, and other trades. Document field changes, job progress, punch-list items, and project notes. Ensure timesheets, job reports, and project documentation are completed accurately and on time. Safety & Quality Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites. Ensure installations meet company standards, project specifications, and industry best practices. Identify issues early and proactively provide solutions. Conduct quality-control reviews before project completion.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in AV, low-voltage, structured cabling, networking, security, automation, or related technology fields. Previous experience leading crews, supervising technicians, or coordinating field activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read plans, drawings, and project documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mindset. Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following: Audio Visual Systems Structured Cabling Systems Network Infrastructure & Wi-Fi Security & Surveillance Systems Access Control Systems Video Conferencing Systems Lighting Control Systems Control Systems & Automation Equipment Rack Assembly & Integration Commercial Construction Projects Public Works Projects Certifications & Qualifications Preferred Candidates possessing one or more of the following certifications are strongly encouraged to apply: BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) BICSI Installer 2 Copper (INSTC) BICSI Installer 2 Optical Fiber (INSTF) BICSI Technician
