Under limited supervision, this position provides primary technical and AV support for The Hotel at Kirkwood Center to Hotel staff, Academic Staff and Guests in the use of classrooms equipped with computer/video projectors and associated AV equipment, and provide primary technical event support for the The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. This position also supports and coordinates supplemental AV equipment utilization, media duplication and other related AV functions. Additionally, this position performs installation and requisition of new equipment. Set up chairs, tables and equipment per banquet event orders. Assists with food functions as needed. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students and other employees in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and consistent attendance at work. Work cooperatively with Hospitality faculty and staff to coordinate operations, meet educational objectives and provide outstanding customer service at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. Perform preventative maintenance, storage and inventory of AV equipment and supplies. Provide set-up, operation and tear-down of set-ups, sound systems, lighting, video and audio-visual presentation equipment for KCCE. Assemble, run and connect local area network cabling as needed. Assist as needed in maintaining local and wide area networking. Assist users and departments in planning for equipment upgrades and purchases. Assist with client tours of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center Banquet Facility and provide customer service support. Troubleshoot and repair computers and audiovisual equipment. Manage the security and heating/cooling systems at The Hotel. Be enthusiastic and energetic individual with the ability to meet and deal effectively with a wide variety of customers, students, and employees. Work in cooperation with other college employees and departments to provide AV and IT support for The Hotel. Work with The Hotel Banquet Manager to schedule routine preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment in The Hotel. Maintain an open availability schedule, allowing for other leadership responsibilities within The Hotel's Banquet Department. Read banquet event orders and/or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments. Move equipment and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks and delivery vehicles to required location. Maintain proper care of all banquet equipment after each use. Move, lift, or carry needed tables, chairs and additional equipment from storage, and return them after use. Regular and consistent attendance at work. Perform other related work duties as assigned. Occasional (10-33%) Recommend AV and computer equipment, supplies, furnishings and general facility needs for The Hotel. Write operational instructions for each media equipped classroom. Assist with installation of new classroom equipment as required. Assist related departments when possible and be able to assist with other related facilities tasks. Assist with other related facilities task as requested. Ensure the facility and equipment is clean and organized. Other duties as assigned.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Must have strong operational knowledge of audio, video, presentation, projection equipment, complete equipment systems, and computer lab set up and support. Must be able to distinguish between component and system failures, and troubleshoot routine problems. Must be able to receive and comprehend both written and verbal communications, and possess basic technical writing skills. Position involves constant (67-100%) talking, hearing and listening either in person or on the telephone; repetitive motion, standing, lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds, aural monitoring using loudspeakers as well as headsets. Frequent (34-66%) talking and listening when communicating with department staff and customers, reaching, and grasping., view computer and/or other close visual work and work in indoor setting associated with AV setups. stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 100 lbs. Occasional (10- 33%) may involve work on a ladder, in closed quarters, or crouched or laying on a floor to access cabling and/or other system components.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Evident of successful direct work experience with audio visual systems and user supported or related fields required. Experience with computers and peripherals, and the following software products desirable: Windows 7/10 and Microsoft Office. Experience with Apple products helpful. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
Banquet experience is preferred, but not required Associate's degree and three years of related experience or equivalent education in audio visual, audio or video systems, or related degree field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.EEO AA/STATEMENT
