Job Description

What You'll Do Depending on your experience, you'll enter as a Tech 1 (Apprentice), Tech 2, or Tech 3 (Lead Tech) . All roles involve installing, servicing, and supporting AV, conferencing, and network systems in: Houses of Worship Schools and Universities Retail and corporate environments Performance venues Position Breakdown Tech 1
  • Technician Apprentice (Entry Level) Build AV racks and install equipment (under supervision or independently) Stock and maintain van, tools, and shared parts Read and follow drawings, blueprints, and instructions Assist with cabling, troubleshooting, and project setup Handle service calls for basic systems and equipment Use digital tools for documentation and reporting Able to utilize a variety of digital tools for documentation Tech 2•Intermediate Technician All Tech 1 responsibilities Take lead on smaller projects or specific system types Troubleshoot and test moderately complex systems Complete most service calls independently Occasionally lead install crews on larger projects Source support documents like manuals and client history Tech 3•Lead Technician All Tech 2 responsibilities Independently lead projects of all types and sizes Handle the most complex installations and service calls Mentor and train junior team members Offer input to improve systems and internal processes Ensure high-quality documentation and communication What We're Looking For We don't expect you to know everything on day one—but you should bring a strong willingness to learn and grow.
Ideal Traits & Skills:
Must be punctual, detail-oriented, adaptable and accountable Basic Computer knowledge Basic networking knowledge Comfortable with hand tools, test equipment, and cable assembly Able to read/follow instructions, blueprints, and technical manuals Strong communicator with a team-first attitude Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders/lifts when needed Willing to work in a variety of spaces—churches, schools, retail, offices, and homes Open to feedback, with a desire to improve and grow
The Fine Print Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
REQUIRED
  • Travel (with advance notice): Some projects require out-of-town work for up to a week (Mon-Fri, back on or by Friday).
MUST HAVE
  • Driver's License with clean driving record and able to pass a background check Overtime Available DB Acoustics provides Technician's tools, work cell phone, work laptop and eventually a work van.
