The Audio/Visual Technician(A/V Technician) is a part-time contract position and is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing and troubleshooting audio/video equipment and software for Sunday worship services and other events as needed. The intent of the role is to produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound/video reinforcement. This includes but is not limited to providing technical expertise and solutions relative to live audio, recorded audio, web audio, video recording, livestream of video presentations, lighting and stage production for the church facility. The Audio/Video Technician works under the weekly supervision of the Wright Church Worship Leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
Pre-Service Arrive prior to the worship service and begin review of service schedule and other information related to the service. Set up stage for service participants and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, lighting, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for church services. Set up and operate sound equipment. Perform proper sound check. Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality. Set up and make any adjustments to video equipment and/or program for worship service. Participate in rehearsal to fully understand service details and to practice transitions and audio/video cues as needed to minimize distractions during the service. Diagnose and correct media system problems. During Service. Responsible for adjusting sound levels during the service as needed. Responsible for following worship leader's direction during services. For example, boosting monitor levels. Responsible for coordinating video presentations during services. Responsible for livestreaming and recording worship service. Determining filming sequences and camera movements. Post Service. Talk with the musicians and singers and pastor to determine if issues existed for them during services. Note any broken/faulty equipment, talk with Worship Leader and/or Pastor about possible solutions. Clear stage of equipment as needed. Qualifications and Skills Required Possess a strong knowledge of operating a variety of electronic, musical, video and mixing equipment to achieve optimal sound quality of services to be livestreamed and recorded via You Tube, ProPresenter, etc Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues prior to supported events. Must have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills. Able to work in team settings and take directions. Highly relational and encouraging to others Familiarity (or willingness to become familiar) with church software. Capable of training volunteers in all areas in case of A/V Technician absence. Compensation & Review The Audio/Video Technician is currently paid $75.00/worship service and $25.00/hour per week for additional needs (e.g. equipment maintenance, software updating, events, training). Additional hours to be determined with consultation of supervisor. Hours and number of services are to be reported to the treasurer at the end of every month and will be paid monthly. This position, as a contracted service provider, does not include benefits or paid time off. If the Audio/Visual Technician needs to be away on a Sunday, he/she will be responsible to schedule accordingly and help to find a replacement for his/her responsibilities. This position will be reviewed by leadership at Wright Church. Either party may terminate the Agreement upon Fourteen (14) days written notice.
