Audio Visual Student Intern Court Name/Organization Illinois Northern District Court Overview of the Position The U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois is now accepting applications for unpaid Student Interns. This position provides practical learning experiences gained through observing and performing assigned tasks related to educational and career interests. Consideration will only be given to those who apply through the Court's online applicant tracking system, submit a cover letter and resume. The internship provides students with an opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of audio and visual systems, interact with knowledgeable and experienced professionals, and earn school credit if offered by the student's school. The interns report directly to one of the Systems Supervisor. Dates and hours are flexible and are determined by the Court and each student. Position Duties and Responsibilities The interns function as student trainees and the duties include: Assisting in providing audio/visual systems support Moving and connecting mobile audio/visual/teleconferencing equipment Troubleshooting audio/visual/teleconferencing equipment for Court events Performing other duties as assigned No. of

Up to two (part-time hours are acceptable) Qualifications A candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. The successful candidate must be punctual, detail-oriented, able to provide a high level of customer service. The candidate must be able to display professional and positive demeanor and appearance appropriate for a court environment (business/office wear-professional). The ability to lift items in excess of 30 pounds is a function of the position. Preference is given to those pursuing a major or minor in Audio Visual Technology or Information Technology. A candidate must adhere to court confidentiality requirements, Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, computer security policy and social media policy. The selected candidate is subject to an FBI fingerprint check as a condition of employment and may be subject to periodic updates. Miscellaneous This student internship is located in downtown Chicago, IL.
