  • $17.36 hourly or per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Maximum salary upon new hire is $16.08. Working Hours and/or Working Conditions Hours to be scheduled by the department and not to exceed 30 hours weekly. Days and hours may vary and may include evenings and/or weekends. Department is looking for individual who can work evening shift, ideally 2:30
  • 8:30 pm. Monday
  • Thursday.
Work at all campus locations is required with little or no prior notice; reliable transportation is a necessity. Must be able to work on a ladder and be comfortable using portable power tools (drill, saw, etc). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must understand how audio, video, and control signals, flow and how each affect the operation of the presentation system. Ability to read and understand basic electronic schematics and block diagrams in the troubleshooting of electronic mediated systems. Possess a good working knowledge of college-owned electronic classroom and presentation equipment; good oral communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to use basic computer software packages and have the ability to understand the use of a laptop as a setup and diagnostic tool. Must exhibit good communications written and verbal skills. Must display professional customer service attitude at all times. Supervision Reports to the Manager of Electrical Engineering Services, receives general direction and supervision from the department full-time staff. Description Benefits Job Function Performs operational tasks related to the setup, installation and the diagnostics of audio visual (AV), classroom mediation and related electronic equipment. Job Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting and simple repair of audiovisual equipment and classroom mediated systems. Schedule and fulfill AV equipment & services requests using the college's booking system software within published response/delivery SLA's. Monitor AV and mediated classroom system performance and uptime using Extron's Global Viewer software package. Schedule and perform preventative maintenance where tool indicates such is required. Set up and operate portable or "built-in" audiovisual systems at events such as College Board meetings or other events where special or standalone audiovisual support is required. Deliver/set-up temporary AV systems with little notice when permanent systems have failed. Assist with electronic/AV systems installations using power tools such as cordless drills and saws. Assist with AV and Mediated systems diagnostics with digital voltmeters, electronic signal analyzers, signal generators and a laptop computer. Utilize a ticketing system for information, tracking, resources management and resolution. Enter clear and complete problem descriptions and resolutions into the ticketing system. Triage the problem and utilize the appropriate resources to resolve the problem within established SLA's. Assist with the training of all new hire part-time employees in the department Other audiovisual related duties as assigned Qualifications Two years direct experience with, and demonstrated knowledge of, general audio-visual equipment and configuring personal computers (Windows and/or Apple) to interface with audio visual equipment (projectors, sound systems, media players, document cameras, microphone support systems).
