Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Under the direction of the Director, Library, the Coordinator of Audiovisual Services/NCIH (North Carolina Information Highway) will perform a variety of technical duties related to the acquisition, coordination, distribution, inventory, operation, maintenance, and repair of instructional audiovisual (AV) equipment and perform a variety of technical and supervisory duties related to the operation of NCIH video conferencing.

Bachelor's degree in technology or another technical field from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications Strong computer/technical skills. Effective and efficient use of Microsoft Office, strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to positive customer service experiences. This staff member should have strong communication skills, superior grammar, advanced computer skills, strong organizational and planning skills and ability to well represent the College to a variety of internal and external audiences of various backgrounds.
Essential Duties Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the selection and distribution of AV equipment throughout the College as appropriate, working with various departments. Transport, assemble, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AV equipment. Coordinate with Maintenance as needed. Provide AV services for functions held at the College and for off-site events organized by the College. Coordinate with off-campus groups to plan appropriately for events, exercising good customer relations skills. Manage tasks associated with NCIH broadcast operations, such as training the BCCC facilitators and maintaining broadcast standards, duty assignments and scheduling, general pre-session setups, on-air session responsibilities, and post-session debriefings. Operate and monitor equipment and other equipment associated with broadcast sites during NCIH broadcasts. Communicate with remote-site facilitators to resolve immediate on-air technical issues. Collaborate with remote IT/AV departments to creatively troubleshoot and resolve ongoing technical issues. Provide technical information and assistance for faculty and staff. Assist with the orientation of new faculty members. Keep inventory records necessary to the AV department. Maintain the AV budget and assist with the preparation of budget requests. Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain information concerning AV equipment and prices. Recommend the purchase of specific brands and types of AV equipment. Assist vendors by providing all necessary records and information needed to troubleshoot technical problems. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Library.
