In person Job description AV Level 3 Technician A Commercial AV Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and operation of audio and visual equipment in commercial settings. They often work in large venues like conference centers, hotels, and corporate offices. Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesLeadership Lead AV teams in planning, executing, and completing AV projects. Able to manage timelines and needs on multiple smaller projects at a time. Set daily goals and communicate the expectations to the more junior team members on what needs to be accomplished for the day/week. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budgeted man hours. Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors while remaining careful with the information released to them. Communicate with the office on details of daily accomplishments, update in proper locations with pictures on a daily basis. Set goals for the team in the morning and accomplish the goals within the day. Identify future concerns or issues and notify the office ahead of time. Get to the job site early to set a good example and be ready for work at start time. Lead an informal team meeting with the expectations for the day and the week on the site. Track hours used to hours given on the job to ensure projects are being completed under hours. Requires minimal oversight from company leadership. Technical Expertise Possess in-depth knowledge of audio and video systems, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and control systems and how the systems function together. Logitech, Crestron, QSC, Biamp. Has the ability to do line drawings, identify missing or additional equipment and read prints easily. Deduce from a scope of work, what is required of the project. Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and trends. Installation Oversee the installation of AV equipment, ensuring proper wiring, connectivity, and calibration. Ability to do all terminations and teach how to do all terminations to junior team members. Able to prewalk a job with a scope of work or bill of materials and identify what needs to be done where. Able to see if conduit, power etc is missing. Able to see out in advance, materials on projects, work for the next day, make a plan and carry it out. Train junior technicians on installation procedures efficiently and effectively making them better and team members. Able to set goals for the day and week and hold junior teammates accountable to daily site production. Ensure jobsite is left in a neat and tidy way every day. Fill out all JSA's or other job requirements of the GC daily. Keep track of all materials on site ensuring everything is kept neat and orderly and tracked. Check all televisions to ensure a "checked" sticker was done when arriving on site. Ensure the return of all materials not used on site. Potentially sit in on construction meetings to give an update on behalf of the site. Manage all items on site to ensure they are installed to company standards, hold all other team members accountable to that standard. Have all required tools. Represent the company by being in uniform with all PPE. Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV systems. Provide timely and effective solutions to equipment malfunctions. Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance. Schedule and oversee maintenance tasks. Training Train junior technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety procedures holding them accountable to the goals you set. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members. Customer Service Interact with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients by being easy to deal with. This should be balanced with the needs of the company and not taking on too much. Safety Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines. Ensure that all team members follow safety procedures.
