Candidates Eligible to Apply Internal/External Position Type Exempt Staff Employment Status Full Time Position Funding Type Regular Posting Detail Information Minimum Education/Training/Experience Bachelor of Science degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed herein and 3 years related work experience. Preferred Education/Training/Experience Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. 5 years of work experience in the area of media services or instructional design. Experience working in higher education. Supervisory experience PC Certifications Minimum Knowledge & Skills Provide high level of customer service and possess good written/oral communication skills. Ability to create training material and provide effective training to end users. Ability to interact and provide information to diverse individuals or groups. Knowledge of electronic principles as they apply to audio, video, and other instructional technology components - including audiovisual equipment, production, delivery, theories, technologies, principles, concepts, and methodologies. Knowledge of software applications used to format audio, video, and presentations. General knowledge of information technology devices, including Android OS, Mac OS, Windows 10, word processing, spreadsheets, other basic office applications, and the ability to find and use Internet resources. Strong computer, analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills to determine the nature of assistance that is needed. Knowledge of basic office procedures such as filing, sorting organizing, shelving, and the ability to maintain detailed and up to date inventory records. Able to work alone and under pressure. Preferred Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of Learning Management Systems like the D2L Brightspace course management system. Ability to post and manage videos on social media sites. (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) Knowledge of streaming media solutions for education. Knowledge of legacy classroom technology. Licensing/Certification Requirements N/A Job Duties Provides problem resolution of classroom technology for faculty. Aid in the resolution of minor computer related issues by providing assistance or referral. Prepares teaching auditoriums for classes and other presentations and schedules use and delivery of instructional resources and equipment. Monitors incoming requests, prioritizes, and establishes work schedules while providing assistance and direction for Media Support Technician. Provides training to users to ensure proper use and care of instructional technology. Develop related materials for use in conjunction with training. Provide video and audio recording services as well as duplication services and reformatting of media. Provide support of campus and community public activities by providing professional assistance with set-up and break-down of sound systems, podiums, cameras, and presentation equipment. Researches and provides recommendations to the Director on the status of campus technology and maintains a good working relationship with the Information-Technology staff. Work with vendors to order, receive and install classroom technology. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required. Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require: reaching, pulling, lifting, standing, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
