Position Summary:
TV Engineer with primary expertise as a Technical Director, Camera Operator and Audio Operator for live and live to tape TV broadcast production. Experienced Broadcast Production Engineer with the skills and experience required to take fast-paced productions from concept through execution•configuration and operation. This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against

The successful candidate will be required to join National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET) Local 51.
Essential Functions:
The Production Engineer will be assigned to various live and prerecorded KQED productions. Responsibilities include configuration, as well as operation of production switchers, professional cameras and audio mixers. The Production Engineer collaborates closely with producers, directors and crew to ensure all aspects of the production run smoothly. The Production Engineer also works in lockstep with Engineering Maintenance to report, track, and resolve technical issues throughout the production control room and technical facilities.
Qualifications:
Five plus years of experience in professional live and recorded broadcast operations. Knowledge in areas of Production and Operations including but not limited to: audio recording, robotic camera and other television related equipment as assigned. Ability and willingness to learn new technologies. Must be able to work independently, yet have strong collaboration skills and meet deadlines. Must be able to prioritize and be a pro-active thinker. Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Successful candidate will be required to join the NABET Local 51 Union if not already a member. Must be able and willing to work different schedules and be flexible with schedule changes #LI-onsite
