GENERAL DUTIES
Responsible for the operation of audio and video production and distribution equipment including portable and studio cameras, audio and video control or recording devices, electronic switchers, electronic character generation systems, portable and studio lighting equipment and personal computers.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Assists in the production of promotional, training, educational, informational and documentary non-print materials for the department. May make recommendations regarding changes in services and delivery. May make recommendations regarding the selection and purchase of materials, equipment and supplies. Maintains assigned audio and video production and distribution equipment. May train others as assigned. Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable ability in the operation and care of audio and video production and distribution equipment, including portable and studio cameras, audio and video control or recording devices, electronic character generator systems and personal computers. Good ability in written and oral communication. Good ability to work well in a group setting. Good ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, superiors, vendors and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED with one (1) year experience in the operation of audio and video production equipment, including portable and studio cameras, audio and video control or recording devices, electronic character generator systems and personal computers. Information technology experience is desirable.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Hours may vary and frequently include evenings. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Essential tasks include ability to speak, hear and see with 20/20 vision (correctable) and normal depth perception and color discrimination, to lift and carry objects weighing up to sixty (60) pounds, to climb ladders up to twenty (20) feet, to sit or stand frequently for up to seven (7) hours in duration and to stoop, bend, squat, crouch and crawl. Must possess normal hand and finger dexterity.
