Job Description
Livestream and Soundbooth Operator SUMMARY:
This position supports the ministry and mission of the church by running the Southminster Presbyterian Church worship service livestream and sound production. The Livestream Producer will work with the pastor, worship leaders, and office administrator to produce a weekly livestreamed production on Sunday mornings and occasional special services. This role involves ensuring all files and programs are prepared prior to the livestream, coordinating a seamless livestream production, adjusting microphone switches and sound levels during the service for clarity, and moving the service's slideshow that contains hymn lyrics and other related material. The Operator will assist with all audio/visual aspects of the production. Prepare files, scenes, and streaming protocol before the livestream. Troubleshoot video and audio streaming systems. Proactively monitor and manage production systems. Take cues and plan scene changes based on the order of worship. Run the livestream (includes scheduling live streams, ending live streams, switching camera angles, monitoring the video and audio feed, etc.). Adjust microphone switches and sound levels through the service for appropriate and clear audio. Moving the service's slideshow to follow the service. Monitoring and upkeep of livestreaming equipment.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Experience in live video/streaming production environment is a plus. Ability to adapt and react quickly to changes. Work side-by-side with the current tech volunteers and church leadership. Capability of identifying various audio and video issues. Ability to multitask, prioritize and communicate effectively. Motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrates proficiency in technical concepts and related processes, with familiarity of live streaming processes, software, and hardware. Strong computer skills including a working knowledge or willingness to learn Mac OS. Knowledge of some form of video editing software is a plus. Proficient with recording and editing equipment and software for live-streaming and videos, specifically OBS, YouTube Studio, and video editing software like Adobe Premiere, or OpenShot Video Editor. Dependable and on-time to appointments.SCHEDULE AND PAY
Sundays $125 per week. Preparing files before Sunday Sundays 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Occasional special services (such as Ash Wednesday, Memorials, etc.) $75 per service. Contact jobs@spcdesmoines.org to apply.Job Types:
