Job Description
Would you like to gain first-hand knowledge in the field of media technology? Learn to use a camera, frame a shot, and edit the footage for television viewing? Work a second job with low hours and a flexible schedule? Then this may be the job you have been looking for! The purpose of this position is to provide media coverage for events and city information that is made available for public viewing through WSTO. This position will remain open until filled. Assist with pre and post operations setup and tear down of camera equipment at the direction of the production leader. Understand and perform camera operations for the filming of events as directed. Through onsite training and experience, WSTO staff members are provided additional responsibility opportunities within the production environment of WSTO. Dependability and Punctuality are critical to this position. Must be 16 or older Valid Wisconsin Driver's License preferred. Education/Training/Certifications Must be 16 or older Valid Wisconsin Driver's License preferred. Language Skills and Interpersonal Communication Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, part-time staff, other city staff and the general public. Judgment and Situational Reasoning Ability Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objective Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness, and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria Physical and Mental Abilities Required to Perform Essential Position Functions Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustment on equipment, machinery, and tools such as a computer and other office machines, and/or materials used in performing essential functions Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing skilled movements such as rapid keyboard use Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects weighing five to 100 pounds Requires the ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, shapes, and sounds associated with job-related objects, materials, and tasks. Environmental Adaptability Ability to work under varied environmental conditions both inside and outside. Environmental factors can include hot to cold temperatures depending on location.
