Full Job Description Job Title:
Content Strategist - Independent Contractor (1099)
Contract Rate:
$21.63 - $24.04 / hour. Final contract rate is open to negotiation based on experience and actual product delivered. Paid monthly on the 1st or 15th. Contractor must submit an hourly invoice for services rendered at least 5 full business days prior to the payment date. This is a 1099 independent contractor position for a specific 12-24 month project. The selected contractor will be responsible for their own income taxes, insurances, and equipment. This role is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, paid time off, or W-2 enrollment. Candidates must submit two writing samples to be considered.

Hurrdat is one of a kind. A media, marketing, and entertainment agency. We were founded in Lincoln, Nebraska as a small team of two in 2010, offering social media services to brands and athletes. After a decade of growth later we have grown to be a uniquely well-rounded marketing and advertising agency with in-house creative, PR, video production, podcasting, sports marketing, venues, and custom apparel—everything a brand needs to share its story and create fans. Mergers and acquisitions over the years (with B2 Interactive, Disconnected Media, Digital Hero Films, Victory Fighting Championship, Hail Varsity, and Parkville Media) have grown our team to over 150 people. We serve over 200 clients who collectively operate in 8 countries, including 43 states in the United States. Our clients range from local businesses just starting to build their brand and online presence to enterprise organizations.
About the role:
As a content strategist, you'll create compelling long-form content for an enterprise client in the senior living industry. This contracted engagement has an initial term of 12 months, with the option for Hurrdat to extend the contract for up to 12 months based on business needs. Your work will include writing website content, blog posts, and other marketing and advertising copywriting based on keyword research and competitor analyses to engage target audiences. Contractors may choose to work on-site at Hurrdat's office and are welcome to participate in team collaboration sessions. Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Write high-quality content using AI in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Research client branding, industry, and competitive keywords to produce content that fulfills search engine optimization and local search marketing goals Collaborate with Sr. Content Strategist, editors, and other team members to develop and execute content marketing efforts Ensure content adheres to both client project and agency standards Deliverables are expected according to agreed-upon project timelines
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Degree in Advertising, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field Experience in content creation, copywriting, editing, or similar marketing position Familiarity with SEO-driven keyword research preferred Strong editing skills used to review own work for spelling and grammar, word choice, organization, and formatting Experience creating or editing content for senior living or related healthcare industries strongly preferred Outstanding creative, collaboration, and teamwork skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Willingness to stay up-to-date on digital marketing offerings and trends
