Job Description

High Point University is seeking a highly motivated and creative professional to join its athletics communications team as Assistant Director of Creative Services. This role will serve as the primary creative services contact for assigned sports and assist in developing and executing digital content and social media strategies for HPU's 16 athletic programs. The position reports to the Deputy Assistant Director for Revenue Share & Compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or Graphic Design. Experience in athletics/sport preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Ability Strong writing, editing, and design (print and web skills) Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and maintain relationships with members of the media, coaches, student-athletes, athletics staff, parents, fans, and alumni Ability to work independently as well as lead projects Ability to work flexible schedule including late night and weekend hours Essential Functions Helps execute the department's social media strategy across all platforms to increase viewers and creative content Assists with the design and execution of the department's graphics and branding templates Builds relationships with and pitches stories to local, regional, and national media contacts Attends all home athletic events for assigned sport(s) and away as necessary Designs and edits content for assigned sports including photos, videos, and graphic design Assists in maintaining official HPU Athletics accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students' parents, faculty, co-workers, and managers Other duties as assigned
