Position Summary:
Long Island University seeks a highly creative Senior Creative Designer to drive the visual expression of the LIU brand. This role is responsible for developing compelling creative campaigns and communications that support enrollment, advancement, alumni engagement, athletics, and institutional reputation. Working across print, digital, social media, environmental graphics, events, and multimedia, the Senior Creative Designer will translate institutional priorities into impactful visual storytelling while ensuring a consistent and engaging brand experience across all audience touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Direction & Design Excellence Design the creative direction and execution of major University marketing campaigns and initiatives. Champion and evolve the LIU brand while maintaining consistency across all communications. Develop original concepts, visual identities, and campaign strategies that support institutional goals. Present creative solutions and recommendations to University leadership and stakeholders. Maintain high standards of design excellence across all marketing materials. Design & Content Development Design and produce creative assets for print, digital, social media, advertising, publications, presentations, and events. Lead the design of admissions materials, donor communications, athletics promotions, institutional campaigns, and flagship publications. Art direct photography, video, illustration, and multimedia content to ensure alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives. Support the visual design of major University events Marketing & Collaboration Partner with colleagues across marketing, web, content, social media, photography, and video to develop integrated, multi-channel campaigns. Create audience-focused marketing solutions that drive enrollment, fundraising, engagement, and brand visibility. Stay current on design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing communications. Brand Licensing & Vendor Relations Review licensing requests and ensure compliance with University brand standards. Manage relationships with printers, merchandise vendors, and creative partners to ensure quality and consistency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, creative direction, brand management, or marketing communications. Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations preferred. Demonstrated success leading creative projects from concept through execution across multiple platforms. Strong portfolio showcasing branding, campaign development, publication design, visual storytelling, and integrated marketing communications.
