Job Description
Director, Creative Strategy Application Deadline:
31 August 2026Department:
Marketing and Strategy Employment Type:
Full Time Location:
New York, New York Reporting To:
VP, Marketing and Strategy Compensation:
$120,000 - $150,000 / year Description Front Office Sports is hiring a Director of Creative Strategy to lead the function and drive the development of high-impact, revenue-generating partnership proposals across our multi-platform media flywheel. This is a role for a strategist who can do the work and shape how the work gets done — building the frameworks, systems, and storytelling standards that scale Creative Strategy as a core growth engine for the business. We're looking for a sharp, decisive operator with a strong creative point of view, a builder's instinct, and the executive presence to confidently pitch ideas to senior brand and agency stakeholders. You'll partner closely with our Brand Partnerships team to translate briefs into category-defining ideas, while serving as the senior strategic voice that elevates how FOS is positioned to the market. The Creative Strategy team powers the ideation and development of custom partnership proposals and strategically packages our offerings — newsletters, website, social, original content, TV, and events — into compelling recommendations for brands across all verticals. As Director, you'll set the bar for that output, mentor and develop a team of strategists, and influence how FOS sells, packages, and positions itself beyond any individual RFP. This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing & Strategy. Candidates must be able to work from the NYC office at least 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities Own the day-to-day operation of the Creative Strategy function — driving pitch excellence, elevating team output, and ensuring quality, consistency, and timeliness across deliverables. Lead the development of strategic recommendations for major RFPs and priority accounts, defining the POV and narrative direction that wins business. Build and evolve scalable frameworks, templates, and systems that reduce rework, accelerate proposal turnaround, and elevate the quality bar. Confidently lead client and agency calls; defend and sell ideas to senior brand stakeholders, and represent the FOS voice externally with authority. Manage and mentor a team of strategists — assigning work strategically based on strengths and development goals, and elevating their thinking through direct, constructive feedback. Make high-stakes decisions in real time during pitches, briefings, and strategy sessions; act as a trusted decision-maker under pressure without requiring guidance from leadership. Independently generate original concepts and creative platforms beyond team brainstorms — and push the team's thinking past the obvious. Develop new products, placements, and sponsorship opportunities that strengthen FOS's positioning and unlock new revenue paths. Shape how Front Office Sports is sold and packaged to brands by influencing go-to-market storytelling, partnership positioning, and the evolution of our creative offering. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise 6-8+ years of experience in creative strategy, partnerships or brand marketing — with at least 2 years managing direct reports. Expert proficiency in Keynote. You build executive-ready decks fast; you set the visual and narrative standard, not relying on pre-existing templates and assets. Demonstrated track record of building systems, processes, and frameworks that scale a creative function. Bias for action. You spot the gap, take the swing, and don't wait for permission. You drive change instead of waiting to be told. Perks & Benefits Generous PTO policy to use as you please, plus sick time and company holidays Employer-sponsored health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision An annual professional development stipend and endless development opportunities at a growing startup Plan for your future with our 401(k) plan, complemented by a 3% company match. We believe in supporting your long-term financial goals Thrive in a dynamic environment with endless development opportunities at our growing startupSimilar jobs in New York, NY
