Overview The Art Director collaborates with the Design Director and Editor-in-Chief to define and maintain the visual and brand-design standards of the Publishing division, primarily across the Wildsam brand range of print magazine, travels books and digital content but with potential involvement with any and all Publishing projects. The role calls for flexible, creative visual thinking across media and nitty-gritty executional skills, from photo-shoot planning to magazine page layout to brand collateral. As a fully integrated member of the collaborative Editorial/Creative team, the person in this role will help shape a dynamic, one-of-a-kind American travel brand on a strategic level, but also provide high-quality, hands-on design work across many different projects and partnerships. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a multifaceted designer and art director with refined aesthetic sensibilities and up-to-date technical skills. A passion for American travel and cultural discovery is a must. Key Responsibilities Assist in identifying, hiring and managing photographers, videographers, directors, production companies and other visual artists for contributions to Wildsam's print magazine, digital content and other Publishing projects. Grow and maintain a network of leading contributors in visual media. Assist in planning and execution for on-location photo and video shoots. Lead Wildsam book design. Assist in Wildsam print magazine design. Collaborate with the Digital Editor on as-needed digital publication design. Provide design support to marketing and sales outreach efforts on an as-needed basis. Requirements Photo/video production coordination and creative-direction experience 3+ years experience in art direction, graphic design, photo editing or production Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud software Experience with book and magazine page design, including photo layout and typesetting Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially related to photography assignment and production details Essential Duties This is a fully remote role but will involve near-daily collaborative contact with the Edit/Creative team This role will look after multiple creative projects evolving in parallel as we work across all Publishing channels; project tracking and deadline management are key Specific practical design and photo editing projects will be integral to this role, including hands-on magazine and book design and photo/video production This role will play a key role in stewarding the Wildsam brand and other core Publishing concerns Our project collaborators and partners are vital, and this role will by necessity be involved in strong relationships outside of our staff team. General Compensation Disclosure The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.
Pay Range:
