Job Description

Director of Creative
Company Expectations
Proactively leads clients through any business challenge within the scope of the project
Remains calm under pressure and models the way when handling conflict
Is an excellent communicator and can effectively simplify complex ideas to staff and clients
Manages staff in their department, with assistance from an Associate Director when needed
Mentors staff in their department, while providing mentorship to all by seeing needs & offering solutions
Leads the way to solving problems within their department
Assists with company initiatives and issues
Exceptional professionalism at all times
Understands time management across the agency with the lens of capacity management and project deadlines as a whole.
Day-to-Day Expectations
Be an expert and market leader in your discipline
Monitor work quality in your area of expertise and ensure it meets Click Rain standards of excellence
Proactively identify inefficiencies & provide solutions to solve and improve
Collaborate with other Department Directors to move company and discipline related initiatives forward
Lead productive & efficient discipline meetings for your area of focus
Oversee the creative department, including design and copywriting team members
Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for direct reports and growing teams
Lead department structure, workflows, standards, and long-term direction in alignment with agency goals
Foster collaboration and creativity across the agency
Collaborate with sister agency, Lemonly, on key services, including video and branding.
Lead concept development for campaigns across digital channels
Help shape messaging, storytelling, and campaign direction for client work
Provide creative leadership across websites, paid campaigns, and content initiatives
Ensure work across channels such as social, CTV, display, streaming audio, email, blogs, and web is strategic, cohesive, and high quality
Present creative ideas with confidence and clarity to clients and internal teams

Strong design acumen and visual judgment, with the ability to evaluate work, provide actionable feedback, and uphold a high creative standard
High standards for craft, attention to detail, and overall creative excellence
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to lead client conversations and confidently sell creative ideas
Strong concepting skills across campaigns, messaging, and storytelling
Understanding of digital marketing channels and creative best practices
Experience managing priorities, resources, and department initiatives
Calm, professional leadership style with strong problem-solving instincts
Preferred Experience
8+ years of relevant experience in an agency, in-house, or consulting environment
Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams
