Job Description

Austin Ridge Bible Church is a thriving, multi-site church in the rapidly growing Austin, Texas area. We are seeking a Communications Director who is passionate about helping ministries effectively promote and communicate the gospel in ministry environments. The Communications Director provides strategic leadership for all messaging, branding, and creative execution across campuses. This role ensures clarity, consistency, and alignment with the church s mission while equipping ministries and campuses with effective communication tools. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic & Brand Leadership Develops and leads a church-wide communications strategy precisely aligned with leadership s vision and established ministry calendar Maintains the church s distinctive brand (voice, tone, theology, visual identity) Ensures communications consistency across all campuses while allowing for contextual flexibility for individual campuses Collaborates closely with Lead Staff and the Executive Pastor Shapes messaging around sermon series, initiatives, the Next campaign, and major events 2. Campus Alignment & Systems Creates centralized communication systems that serve multiple campuses Builds and maintains repeatable workflows for events and ministry promotions Supports ministries in event planning by developing specific communication strategies for promoting internally to the church Trains campus staff on communication standards and brand guidelines Provides templates and resources to maintain consistency Balances central messaging with campus-specific communication needs 3. Content & Messaging Oversight Oversees weekend announcement strategy and service communication moments in collaboration with Worship and Production departments Directs and maintains website content strategy and updates Oversees email marketing strategy and audience segmentation Supervises social media calendar, voice and engagement strategy Ensures theological clarity and pastoral sensitivity in messaging 4. Creative & Video Leadership Oversees creative development for sermon series branding, stage visuals, print materials, and digital campaigns Oversees video storytelling (testimonies, ministry highlights, vision casting) Directs photography standards and visual storytelling Manages relationships with external designers, printers, and production partners 5. Internal Communications Improves staff communication clarity and systems Builds and maintains intake and project request processes (Asana) Ensures ministry leaders understand communication timelines and expectations Develops crisis communication plans Advises leadership on public-facing messaging during complex issues 6. Administration & Budget Leads communications staff and volunteers Establishes workflow processes and project prioritization Create timelines for projects and track their statuses, ensuring deadlines are met and ministries are served efficiently Manages communications budget Recruits, trains, and develops creative team members Attends weekly ministry staff meetings, all staff meetings, and retreats as requested Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Mature, growing disciple with a consistent devotional life Experience and enthusiasm for ministering to the church body and a heart to use their gifts to serve others Collaborative team leader who prioritizes key objectives while fostering a mutually supportive and encouraging environment Flexible multi-tasker with little need for supervision in a fast-paced environment Capable and influencing team leader High-level strategic thinker with strong attention to detail Creative eye with inherent sense of what works artistically Brand-disciplined with relational flexibility Systems builder (not just creative executor) Skilled at balancing speed and excellence Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Technologically proficient and current on software and creative trends Commitment to and agreement with the statement of faith of Austin Ridge Bible Church It is expected that this person is now or will become an active member of Austin Ridge Bible Church
