$18.50 an hour Potential for
Pay Increase:
Opportunities for merit-based increases during the annual performance review period.
Hours Per Week:
During the summer season (June - Sept.) can work up to 40 hours per week. During the off-season (Oct. - May) can work up to 24 hours per week.
Availability Needed:
This position requires a commitment to working year-round, ensuring consistent staffing and exceptional service levels regardless of seasonal fluctuations. Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and holidays, with regular shifts typically scheduled between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. Perks of the

What You'll Do:
If you enjoy working outdoors, learning new skills, and working independently, this may be the job for you! The Aquascaper role provides hands-on experience in lake and shoreline maintenance, boating operations, and basic water quality monitoring. This position reports directly to the Lake Biologist and is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance, safety, and recreational usability of the Association's beaches and lake for members and their guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Groom and maintain the Association's beaches to support a clean and safe recreational environment. Remove floating debris along the entire shoreline, docks, and lake surface. Operate a work boat to remove visible underwater debris and aquatic weeds, helping maintain access for boating, fishing, and swimming. Assist with water sampling and testing under the direction of the Lake Biologist. Inspect tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting maintenance or replacement needs. Follow established safety standards and attend safety meetings. Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to members and guests.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age due to insurance requirements associated with operating LMVA's work boat. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, as operation of the work boat requires demonstrated ability to operate motorized equipment. Must be able to obtain a California Boater Card upon hire. High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate swimming skills required. Skills & Attributes Enjoys working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working independently after training, including extended time alone on work boat. Interest in biology, environmental science, or lake ecology is preferred, but not required. Previous boating experience is a plus. Strong attention to safety and ability to follow procedures. Willingness to learn boating operations, equipment use, and basic water-quality sampling. Positive, service-oriented attitude when interacting with members and guests. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to spend most of the workday on a boat and occasionally in the water.
