Part-Time Forward Deployment Engineer Opportunity -- California

Budbreak is looking for a part-time Forward Deployment Engineer to support field deployments of our autonomous vineyard inspection robots across California. Why Budbreak We're a small but fast-growing ag robotics start-up deploying scouting robots for a diverse range of growers from boutique wineries and large wine producers to individual growers. This role puts you at the intersection of agriculture and cutting-edge robotics in a way few positions can. You'll have direct conversations with winemakers and growers about where the industry is heading: rare, first-hand insight whether you're building a career in ag, agtech, or something entirely your own. You'll also get hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art field robotics and autonomous systems, at a stage when most people are still reading about them.

About the role This is a hands-on, boots-in-the-dirt position. You'll be responsible for transporting, setting up, and monitoring our robot at customer vineyards and orchards, and serving as the on-site contact for growers during deployments. Travel to deployment sites across CA is part of the role. What you'll do Transport, set up, and operate robotic equipment at vineyard and orchard sites across CA Help troubleshoot in the field Provide feedback to our development team Serve as the primary on-site contact for growers during deployments Coordinate scheduling and logistics internally and externally What we're looking for Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to deployment sites throughout California Interest in viticulture, agriculture, or farm operations Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and terrain A fast learner who picks up new tools and workflows quickly Curiosity about robotics and agtech Preferred Experience with computers and technology Field work experience How to apply Send your resume to eliu@budbreakinnovations.com.
