Beat:

Curate and spin playlists that get everyone dancing and keep the energy high. Coordinate with the event planner to keep the event on schedule. Master the

Ceremony :

Engage and entertain guests with your MC skills, making announcements and keeping the vibe lively.

Make Magic :

Work with clients to understand their musical tastes and special requests so you can build playlists that feel truly personal. Bring the

Fun :

Infuse every event with your unique style and vibrant energy, making each celebration a standout. How It Works You're an independent contractor, not an employee. You run your own show. You choose which gigs to accept, and you bring your own creative style to every event. We'll share the client's preferences and the event timeline, and the rest (song selection, mixing style, how you rock the dance floor) is up to you. You're free to work for other DJ companies or maintain your own clients without restriction, as long as you're not soliciting ours.

Responsibilities Stay Connected :

Respond promptly to all communication via text, email, and phone leading up to and during events. Prepare to

Party :

Review prep documents, download playlists, and meet with clients before each event. Set the

Scene :

Set up equipment neatly and on time. Send us a photo of your completed setup at each event.

Sound Check :

Dial in volume levels and prevent any feedback or technical hiccups.

Take Requests :

Play client requests, vet songs on the fly for appropriate content, and make announcements according to the event itinerary. Dress the

Part :

Wear a suit at weddings. Dress appropriately for every event as agreed with the client.

Record Your Sets :

Record every set and send the recording to us after the event.

Be Professional:

Represent Moon Magnet with style and keep our promotional materials available at events.

Handle Logistics :

Pick up and return any company equipment from our storage location in Lakewood, and keep guests safe throughout the event.

Stay Sharp :

We have a zero tolerance policy for drinking alcohol or consuming cannabis before or during events. Show up clear-headed and ready to perform.

What We're Looking For Experienced Pro :

Previous experience as a DJ and MC for weddings, private parties, and corporate events.

Tech-Savvy :

Proficiency in sound and lighting equipment setup and management.

People Person :

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and guests. Talking to people is a huge part of what we do.

Detail-Oriented :

A keen eye for the little things and a commitment to exceptional service.

Well-Rounded :

Reliable, committed, friendly, outgoing, and trustworthy.

Availability :

Weekend availability is a must since most of our events are on weekends. Your Gear You bring your own rig.

Required:

DJ decks or controller PA system with speaker tops 12 inches or larger Subwoofer Reliable vehicle with auto insurance for transporting gear A suit for weddings

The Pay Weddings:

$600 to $800 per event All other events (private parties, corporate events, etc.): $200 to $400 per event You keep 100% of tips

Referral Bonus:

$50 for every new client you refer who books and pays for their first event Paid via direct deposit, PayPal, or Venmo within 2 business days after the event Before Your First Event Pass a national background check (we cover the cost) Obtain event-specific liability insurance naming Moon Magnet Music, LLC as additionally insured Moon Magnet is an equal opportunity contractor partner.
