Job Description

Balloon Museum comes to Chicago! After the incredible success of our exhibitions in Rome, Paris, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, we are excited to bring the Balloon Museum experience to Chicago! We are looking for a Technician to join our team and support the maintenance and daily operation of our installation, A Quiet Storm. We are seeking reliable, detail-oriented candidates with previous experience in technical production, maintenance, exhibitions, events, or live entertainment environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to contribute to the smooth operation of a unique immersive experience. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Load, monitor, and supervise bubble machines throughout the day Ensure the installation remains safe, clean, and fully operational Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of exhibit equipment Carry out general maintenance tasks throughout the exhibition space as needed Assist in identifying, reporting, and addressing maintenance issues to ensure a safe and functional environment Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise Support daily exhibition operations and collaborate with the operations team Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines
Requirements:
Previous experience in technical, operational, maintenance, exhibition, or event-related roles preferred Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays The museum opened on October 30 and will remain open until September 7 .
Pay Rate:
$17.00 gross per hour. More information will be provided during the interview.
Job Types:
Part-time, Contract, Temporary Expected Hours:
Up to 40 hours per week. Shifts may vary from week to week depending on business needs. Weekend availability is highly preferred for this position.
