Scale Clerk

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Scale Clerk to work at our Burroughs North Wallce Stone location in Bay Port, MI . The Scale Clerk weighs trucks and performs basic recordkeeping and customer functions.

Monday-Friday, some Saturdays as needed Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Year round, non-weather dependent employment Tuition Reimbursement for qualified skilled trade programs Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Scale Clerk will: Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks while adhering to state weight restrictions Communicate effectively over CB radio and handheld two-way radio Deliver customer service excellence via telephone, radio, e-mail, face to face, or other means Provide directions and assistance to customers and drivers Process paperwork, enter information and create standardized reports Support the site in the function of time and attendance tracking and mobile equipment fuel/hour reporting Handle cash sales Keep the work area clean and tidy Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Skills The ideal candidate will have: High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to Lift up to 25 lbs. Knowledge of scale operations Knowledge of local geography, truck routes and weight laws (desired, but willing to train) Good organizational, decision making and time management skills Ability to work in fast paced environment while managing competing priorities Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, Command and Oracle a plus Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings Must be willing and able to travel locally and work in a construction environment Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed #IND2
