Job Description

Heritage Garden Attendant The Charter Township of Shelby is now accepting applications for a Part-Time/Seasonal Heritage Garden Attendant. This position assists with the oversight and coordination of scheduled activities at Heritage Gardens, ensuring the facility is properly prepared for reservations and that Township rules are followed during reservations. This position is primarily needed during the peak season from late April through October, with hours varying based on reservations. Weekly hours will vary depending on bookings but will average approximately 8-16 hours per week during the season. Compensation Hourly wage starting at $17.82per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Availability primarily on weekends, with some weeknight shifts required. Unlocking and locking the gates at Heritage Gardens for scheduled wedding photos, rehearsals, ceremonies, family photos, and other photography sessions. Setting up and removing ceremony chairs when rentals are scheduled. Ensuring that only the reserved parties are allowed into Heritage Gardens during their designated reservation time. Monitoring the garden area during reservations to ensure facilities are respected and Township policies are followed. Communicating with Township staff regarding reservations, scheduling changes, or any issues that arise during events. Assisting in maintaining a welcoming, clean, and orderly environment for visitors. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by reservation schedules. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Dependable, punctual, and professional when interacting with the public. Ability to lift and move chairs and light equipment associated with event setup.
