$16.69 per hour / $18.95 after successful completion of probationary period General Description
Responsible for performing and assigning daily work routines, including but not limited to completing all setups for the Show Me Center (SMC) and Student Recreation Center, transporting and setting up equipment for off-campus events, and general and detailed cleaning of the SMC and its surrounding area. Work is based on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation, and a variety of shifts are needed to accommodate the needs of the SMC. Supervision
SMC Operations Staff report directly to the SMC Operations Supervisor or their designated representative. SMC Operations Staff work closely with the Director, Events, fellow Operations Staff, SMC Administrative Staff, and other University staff. SMC Operations Staff have direct interface with external clients as well as University officials, the general public, and various outside promoters. Primary Responsibilities
Supervise part-time temporary labor scheduled to assist with the setup and clean-up of all events in the SMC and special Student Recreation Center events
Set up and tear down equipment such as stages, risers, tables, chairs, and basketball floor for all SMC and Student Recreation Center events. Events include, but are not limited to: Southeast Missouri State University Men's and Women's Basketball games, banquets, concerts, family shows, trade shows, rodeos, and other events
Maintain concrete, hardwood, and resilient flooring throughout the building
Ensure setup accuracy and the presentation of the SMC facility for all events
Operate a forklift, small equipment, and large trucks
Perform basic maintenance of SMC equipment
Responsible for keeping the exterior of the SMC clean and presentable
Assist in leaf removal and snow removal from SMC grounds
Act as event representative when managers are not available
Responsible for customer service and satisfaction
Maintain job records, inventory control, and usage for the purpose of accurate billing
Serve as a facility representative to clients on-site
Maintain a valid driver's license
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must live within 30 minutes' travel time from the University
Demonstrated knowledge of basic custodial skills
Demonstrated ability to supervise
Demonstrated ability to take instructions, either verbally or in writing
Demonstrated ability to operate small equipment (such as buffers, extractors, etc.), forklifts, and large trucks
Ability to work a variety of shifts and be able to respond to schedule changes, call-outs, and other conditions as necessary to accommodate the SMC's needs within 30 minutes of notification
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 pounds and work at heights up to 45 feet with or without accommodations
Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
