Job Description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church seeks a detail-oriented, welcoming, and faith-supportive Wedding Coordinator to assist engaged couples and clergy in the planning and execution of wedding liturgies. The Wedding Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for wedding rehearsals and ceremonies, ensuring that each celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony is prayerful, orderly, and consistent with the liturgical norms and policies of the Catholic Church.
Catholic Identity & Liturgical Support Supports and upholds the teachings, traditions, and liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church.
Ensures all weddings are conducted in accordance with parish policies and Archdiocesan guidelines.
Works respectfully and collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, musicians, and liturgical ministers. Wedding Planning & Coordination Serves as the parish liaison for couples regarding wedding logistics, timelines, and church procedures.
Reviews parish wedding guidelines with couples and answers questions related to the ceremony.
Coordinates details related to seating, processional order, church décor, and liturgical setup.
Confirms logistics with musicians, altar servers, photographers, and videographers as needed. Rehearsals & Day-of Coordination Conducts and oversees wedding rehearsals in a calm, organized, and pastoral manner.
Ensures the wedding party understands processions, cues, and church expectations.
Coordinates all aspects of the wedding ceremony on the day of the event to ensure reverence and smooth execution.
Addresses any unexpected issues professionally and discreetly. Communication & Professionalism Communicates clearly, timely, and courteously with couples, clergy, and parish staff.
Maintains accurate records and schedules for wedding events.
Represents the parish with warmth, hospitality, and professionalism at all times.
Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion. Reliability & Availability Is available primarily evenings and weekends, including rehearsals and scheduled wedding dates.
Demonstrates punctuality, flexibility, and dependability. Qualifications Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience coordinating events, weddings, or liturgical celebrations preferred.
Familiarity with Catholic wedding liturgy and church practices strongly preferred.
Must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Ability to move throughout the church and stand for extended periods.
