Job Description

Summary Game-night employees will be responsible for assisting the full-time communications staff on game nights and special events. The position is meant to be an initial experience in sports communications and the game-night employees will be involved in a wide range of activities related to the communications operations of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits. Duties & Responsibilities Work with the Sabres Communications department to assist in various game-night responsibilities and tasks Assist with credential distribution and greet media, scouts and visiting team staff at check in Set up the press box and distribute printed game materials throughout the game Record home and visitor player postgame audio as well as home and visitor postgame coach press conferences Opportunity to assist with theme nights and/or special events throughout the season Minimum Qualifications for the
Position:
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age Availability for all Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits home games Ideal candidates should be pursuing or have a degree in public relations, journalism or a related field and have some type of experience in sports Strong writing and communication skills Critical Competencies Ability to work both independently and with a group Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Hard-working personality Flexible and able to adapt in high-pressure situations Internship Program Benefits Monthly Professional Development Workshops focused on department overviews, workplace skills, and industry insights. Mentorship Program with the option for interns to be paired with an organizational mentor for guidance and professional support throughout the internship. Job Shadowing Opportunities across departments to gain exposure to different roles and career paths within the organization.

Resume reviews and mock interviews to strengthen job search and interviewing skills. Compensation & Hours This role pays $16.00 an hour. This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. This is a temporary position for the 2026-2027 season. Work Environment & Physical Demands. This internship operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds. Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.
