Part-Time Seasonal, Non-Exempt Overview The Pittsburgh Penguins "IceBreakers" Promo Team serves as the front-facing Game Entertainment Activations staff at every Penguins home game. Team members bring fun, upbeat personalities, high energy, and confidence performing and engaging with fans in a live arena environment. This role helps create memorable experiences for fans attending games and events at PPG Paints Arena. Compensation includes an hourly rate, gameday meal, and parking. A uniform will also be provided. Key Responsibilities Fan Engagement & Entertainment Engage, interact, and create positive energy with fans throughout events and activations. Assist in creating memorable experiences for fans attending Penguins home games and events. Participate in mascot interaction, scripted announcements, and other live entertainment elements. Game Presentation & Activations Prepare and execute live event elements during games and special events. Support promotions, sponsorship activations, contestant selection, and on-ice/off-ice entertainment activities. Assist with general game presentation initiatives as assigned. Team Participation & Training Attend IceBreakers orientation, practice sessions, and equipment training. Learn and follow all program guidelines to ensure activations are executed properly and safely. Take direction and apply feedback to improve performance and execution. Event Operations & Scheduling Work all scheduled Pittsburgh Penguins home games and select events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Maintain flexibility and reliability in attending scheduled games, practices, and related activities. Perform additional duties and event-related responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old by September 1, 2026, with a high school diploma or G.E.D. Fun, energetic, and approachable personality with a passion for interacting with people. Comfortable and confident working in front of large live crowds. Physically fit and able to remain on your feet for extended periods, move throughout the venue quickly, and assist with lifting or moving equipment as needed. Reliable, accountable, and able to work professionally under pressure. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Available for at least 75% of all home games and required events. Preferred Skills Knowledge and passion for Pittsburgh, pop culture and trends, sports, hockey, the NHL, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Previous live event, promotional, entertainment, or "hype team" experience. Additional talents or performance-based skills such as skating, dancing, magic, or other fan engagement abilities. Creative thinking and the ability to improvise in fast-paced live event environments.
