Status:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Gameday Position Overview The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is seeking Foundation Game Day Coordinators to support in-game activations and fan engagement efforts during Pittsburgh Penguins home games. The Foundation operates a fan engagement hub located on the concourse outside the F.N.B. Club at PPG Paints Arena, featuring the Foundation Auction, exclusive merchandise, and information regarding youth programming and community initiatives. This role plays a key part in connecting fans with programs that advance youth hockey, wellness, education, and community impact throughout the region. Key Responsibilities Fan Engagement & Foundation Representation Serve as an ambassador for the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation by engaging with fans and sharing information about the Foundation's mission, programs, and community impact. Answer fan questions regarding the Foundation Auction, memorabilia sales, game day initiatives, and Foundation programming. Encourage fan participation in fundraising initiatives through the GiveSmart platform. Host and assist special guests participating in Foundation game day activations. Sales & Fundraising Operations Promote game day memorabilia and Shop Penguins Foundation merchandise to support Foundation programs and community initiatives. Maintain accountability for all sales transactions, merchandise displays, and inventory management. Assist with authenticating memorabilia and managing inventory through the Penguins Authentics platform. Utilize payment and fundraising platforms including GiveSmart and Square (training provided). Event Setup & Game Day Execution Set up and dismantle the Foundation Station before and after games. Arrive approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes prior to scheduled game times.
For example:
4:15 PM for a 7:00 PM start time. Subject to change. Assist with post-game activations and additional game day responsibilities as needed. Support additional Foundation events and fundraisers when required. Professionalism & Operational Support Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the Foundation. Follow operational and presentation standards while interacting with fans and guests. No eating or drinking while working the station in front of fans. Collaborate with Foundation staff to ensure a positive and organized game day experience. Qualifications Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Passion for the mission and charitable work of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. Basic knowledge of the Pittsburgh Penguins, including current and alumni players and team history. Ability to lift and transport materials weighing at least 15 pounds. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Comfortable engaging with large crowds in a fast-paced live event environment. Must be available to work at least 85% of Penguins home games, including preseason, regular season, and playoff games. Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and certain holidays. Employment subject to criminal background check. Preferred Skills Prior sales, fundraising, retail, or customer service experience preferred. Outgoing, personable, and extroverted personality with the ability to encourage fan participation and engagement. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling transactions and inventory. Experience working live events, sports entertainment, or nonprofit/community initiatives preferred.
