We are building a team that values efficiency, accuracy, and accountability—and we're looking for a leader who can help scale our CAD and survey operations. Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on CAD / Survey Manager who can both produce high-level technical work and train/develop junior team members. This role is critical to our company's growth and requires someone who is not only skilled, but also patient, structured, and capable of building a team. This is not just a production role—you will be responsible for setting standards, training entry-level technicians, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output across projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage CAD and survey technicians (entry-level to intermediate) Train and develop junior employees into productive team members Process and manage drone (UAV) data, topographic surveys, and site models Oversee CAD drafting for grading, utilities, and construction layouts Ensure accuracy, timelines, and quality control across all deliverables Coordinate with field crews and project managers Establish workflows and standard operating procedures Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and improving efficiency Required Qualifications 3+ years experience in surveying, CAD, or civil/site development Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred) Experience with drone/UAV data processing (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, etc.) Proven experience training or mentoring employees Strong understanding of construction layouts, grading, and utilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Preferred Qualifications Previous leadership or supervisory experience FAA Part 107 drone license Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and field-to-finish workflows Strong communication and organizational skills What We're Looking For (Important) Someone who takes ownership of team performance, not just their own work Willingness to train and develop others (this is required) Ability to stay professional under pressure Problem-solver mindset (not just identifying issues, but fixing them) Team-first attitude—no ego-driven management What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonuses tied to team productivity Growth opportunities as the company expands Stable, long-term position with a growing company Company support for tools, training, and certifications
