Job Description

Within the spirit of Making People s Dreams Come True , this position is responsible for acting as a final gatekeeper to editorial content, ensuring that stories and visual elements meet Daily Sun standards before releasing them for publication. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities:
Work closely across newsroom teams to aid the newsgathering operation and develop the day s top stories - whatever they may be. Edit stories, graphics and page designs for accuracy, quality and clarity with an emphasis on visual sophistication. Research and write informative headlines, subheads and navigation devices. Explore innovative approaches to visual solutions. Compile the photo report in the absence of the photo managers. Meet copy and page flow deadlines. Foster a culture of collaboration and contributes to a healthy team dynamic. All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor s degree from a four (4) year college or university, preferably in English, journalism or graphic design, or two (2) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a working knowledge of AP style. Must have sports experience
